Ibrahim 11–18
The earlier messengers were threatened with expulsion or forced return to their ancestors' religion, but they put their trust in Allah and were patient, until Allah promised destruction for those who reject and a dwelling for the messengers in that land.
Verses 11-18 explain the steadfastness of Allah's messengers before the Messenger in conveying the message of tawhid, the threats and intimidation from their people, and the outcome for believers and disbelievers in them. The Messengers acknowledged that they were also human and could not possibly produce miracles except with Allah's permission. Facing their people's rejection and disbelief in Allah and His revelation, they responded by putting their trust in Allah and bearing patiently the harm done to them.
The disbelievers even threatened the Messengers with expulsion from their land or return to the milah (religion of the ancestors) that they had followed.
As a result of the deeds and actions of the disbelievers, Allah revealed to His messengers that He would certainly destroy their disbelieving people. Then Allah would establish the messengers in that land after their people were destroyed. This was a reward for those who feared Allah and His threat, while they sought victory only from Allah.
In the Hereafter, the disbelievers will be cast into Hell, given boiling pus to drink so they feel pain as if dying, yet they cannot die. They are given punishment from all directions and from behind them there is severe punishment.
That is because all the good deeds of the disbelievers are not accepted by Allah. Their deeds are like dust blown by the wind. They are powerless to hold it. All this is due to the misguidance of the path of life they followed while living in the world.
