Maryam 12–38
The noble characteristics of Yahya given wisdom from childhood, then the birth of Isa from Maryam without a husband and a baby speaking to defend his mother while affirming himself as Allah's servant, not God's son.
Verses 12-15 continue the story of the Prophet Zakaria who was blessed by Allah with a son named Yahya in his old age. Allah commanded Yahya to hold fast to the Torah which was revealed to the Prophet Musa and granted him various virtues, including raising him as a messenger and giving him wisdom from childhood.
Yahya possessed noble characteristics such as guarding his purity, being God-conscious of Allah, acting with goodness and respect to his parents, not being arrogant and not disobeying Allah and his parents. Because of this Allah granted Yahya salvation at birth, at death and at resurrection on the Day of Judgment.
Verses 16-25 explain the miraculous story of Maryam where she gave birth without a husband. When the angel Jibril came to Maryam in the form of a man she was startled and asked him to go away. The man explained he was an angel sent by Allah to give her a pure son. Of course Maryam was amazed because she had never been touched by any man.
Allah made Maryam give birth without a husband so mankind could witness proof of His power. Because of this she was very sad. Then Allah said to her not to grieve because He would give her a noble son. Maryam gave birth beneath a date palm tree bearing ripe fruit showing Isa was born in summer, because dates bear fruit in summer not in winter.
Verses 26-38 continue the story of Allah's miraculous sign in the event of Maryam giving birth to Isa without a husband. This event shocked the Children of Israel so they accused Maryam of misconduct. Then Allah again showed His miraculous sign by making the baby Isa able to speak and directly answer their accusation against his mother Maryam.
Isa explained: I am a servant of Allah not the son of Allah. Allah gave me the Gospel and Allah raised me as a prophet. Allah blessed me wherever I am. He commanded me to establish prayer pay zakat while I live and show kindness to my mother and He did not make me a tyrant and wretched. Allah saved me at birth at my death and at my resurrection on the Day of Judgment.
Isa who was born from a mother then died and will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment is clear proof that Isa is not god nor the son of God. Considering Isa the son of God is great idolatry and contradicts the teachings of the Prophet Isa himself who taught his ummah to affirm the Oneness of Allah in all forms of worship. Those whose hearts tend toward idolatry still see Isa as the son of Allah. Yet Isa is a sign of Allah's greatness and power. Allah created all things based on His knowledge and will. Therefore only the disbelievers wrongdoers and clearly astray dispute this matter.
