Maryam 77–98

Wealth and children will not help anyone before Allah, true glory is God-consciousness, and the claim that Allah has a child is described as nearly splitting the heaven and earth.

• The disbelievers think wealth and children will help them, but each person faces Allah alone with only faith and righteous deeds.
• The idolaters worship idols seeking glory, but that is idolatry designed by Satan, while true glory is God-consciousness.
• Those with God-consciousness are gathered as honored guests, while the disbelievers are driven to Hell in a state of thirst without receiving intercession.
• The saying that Allah has a child is greatly condemned, described as nearly causing the heavens to split, the earth to cleave, and the mountains to crumble.
• The conclusion of the surah mentions that the believers are made compassionate to one another, the Qur'an is made easy to convey glad tidings and warnings, and the stories of previous nations are purely from revelation.

Verses 77-95 explain the following:

1. The disbelievers think that the wealth and children they have obtained from Allah will help them before Allah in the future. Yet all people will face Allah alone, and nothing can benefit them and help them except faith in Allah and righteous deeds performed while living in this world.
2. The idolaters worship idols to seek glory. But worshipping idols is idolatry designed by Satan, which they follow. True glory is God-consciousness toward Allah.
3. In the Hereafter, those with God-consciousness will be gathered as honored guests of Allah, while the disbelievers and idolaters are driven to Hell in a state of thirst. They will not receive intercession because they attributed a child to Allah. Indeed, that is a statement which Allah greatly dislikes. The heavens nearly split, the earth nearly cleaves, and the mountains nearly crumble because they cannot bear to hear the words of those who attribute a child to Allah as the Jews, Christians, and idolaters do. All people will face Allah alone and as servants of Allah, including the Prophet Isa (peace be upon him).

Verses 96-98 of Surah Maryam explain that those who believe and do righteous deeds will be made compassionate to one another by Allah. Allah made the Qur'an easy for the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) so he could give glad tidings (of Paradise) to the God-conscious and warnings (of Hell) to the rebellious. All stories of the destruction of previous nations are purely from the Qur'an or Allah's revelation.
