Taha 38–64
Allah reminds Musa of His protection from when he was cast into the river as a child until he returned to his mother's lap, then Musa faced an angry Pharaoh who gathered magicians to fight.
Verses 38-51 explain various blessings of Allah to the Prophet Musa before he was appointed as a messenger, such as when his mother threw him into the river, then he was picked up by his own enemy and the enemy of Allah, namely Pharaoh. Allah loved Musa and always watched over his life.
Allah showed his sister the way to reach Pharaoh's palace and she was able to convince Pharaoh's family to entrust Musa to be nursed by a woman. That woman was his own mother. Thus is how Allah returned Musa to his mother so he could have peace. Allah saved Musa after he killed a man in Egypt until he stayed in Madyan for several years. Allah created Musa to be His messenger. For this reason, he was tasked with preaching monotheism to Pharaoh who had become a tyrant.
As a human being, Musa feared preaching to Pharaoh because Pharaoh would torture him. Then Allah guaranteed to protect him. Musa's task was to preach to Pharaoh and save Bani Isra'il from Pharaoh's rule. There is safety guaranteed for those who follow the guidance of Allah and His messenger and Allah's punishment for those who reject it. Pharaoh was angry at Musa and Harun because he refused to acknowledge them as god. The god is He who provides sustenance and guidance for His creatures.
Verses 52-64 continue the story of Musa with Pharaoh. The previous verse 51 explains that Pharaoh asked Musa about the condition of previous nations. Musa said that he did not know about them and Allah certainly knows because to Allah nothing is hidden and He never forgets anything.
Musa explained that Allah spread out the earth, made it easy for people to make paths over it, sent down rain from the sky so various plants grew and their fruits became food for people and livestock. From the earth Allah created mankind, to it they are buried and from it they will be raised. Pharaoh became angry and accused Musa and Harun of coming to expel him from Egypt with sorcery. Pharaoh gathered the magicians and asked Musa if he was ready to compete with them.
Seeing the magicians, Musa said to them: Woe to you. Never fabricate falsehood against Allah, else you will be punished and you will surely lose. Hearing that, the magicians began to fear so they disagreed among themselves how to defeat Musa. They tried to please Pharaoh by accusing Musa and Harun of being magicians who wanted to expel Pharaoh from Egypt and erase the traditions they held dear. Then Pharaoh ordered them to stand in line and was confident he could win.
