Day 191 · Surah Al-Mu'minun Verses 60-89

Al-Mu'minun 60–89

Those who hasten to good is described through the state of their hearts, then the deniers of revelation are refuted with their own admission that it is Allah who created the heavens, earth, and all power.

Those who race to answer the call of the messenger are those who spend part of their wealth and their hearts fear Allah and are certain they will return to Him.
On the contrary, the deniers mock the Qur'an and accuse the Prophet of madness even though they know his character, and their screaming when punishment comes brings them no help.
They are merely following their desires; if the Qur'an followed their wishes, the heavens, earth, and all mankind would be ruined.
The messenger is forbidden from asking for payment for his preaching because the reward of the hereafter is far better, and his preaching invites to the straight path.
When asked who owns the earth, the seven layers of heaven, and the Throne, they answer Allah, yet they still refuse to affirm His oneness in worship.

Verses 60-74 continue the previous verse:

Spending part of the wealth they possess.
Their hearts fear Allah and they believe they will return to Allah.

They are the ones who hasten to answer the call of good from Allah's messengers and compete in implementing it in their actual lives.

As for those in whose hearts there is misguidance, they continue to commit sins and associate partners with Allah. When Allah's punishment comes, they cry out. This crying will not cause Allah's help to descend. They turn away from Allah's revelation and boast and ridicule the Qur'an and the Prophet Muhammad at night clubs. They do not want to ponder the verses of the Qur'an. They know the character of the Prophet Muhammad, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, but they deny it, even accusing him of madness and hating the truth of the Qur'an.

In reality, they are merely following their desires. If the Qur'an followed their desires, the heavens, earth, and all mankind would be ruined. They reject the teachings in the Qur'an. Therefore, Allah forbids the Messenger, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, from asking for payment for his preaching because the reward of the hereafter is far better. The preaching of the Messenger, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, calls to the straight path. One who denies the afterlife is one who is lost from the path of Allah.

Verses 75-89 continue the explanation of the previous verse. The disbelief of the disbelievers of Mecca toward Allah is very terrible. Even when they are afflicted with hunger and very severe punishment, they despair and still refuse to submit and humble themselves before Allah.

There is no excuse for mankind to disbelieve in Allah, because He has created hearing, sight, and hearts for mankind. He is the one who multiplies mankind on earth and to Him they will be gathered. He is the one who gives life, causes death, creates night and day in succession. They do not use their minds properly and correctly, so they repeat the words of their disbelieving forefathers who do not believe in the Day of Resurrection and claim that Allah's revelation is merely stories and tales.

Strangely, if they are asked who created the earth, the people in it, the seven layers of heaven, and the Mighty Throne, in whose hand is the power of all things, and He protects while needing no protection, they answer: Allah. So what makes them unwilling to affirm the oneness of Allah in worship and in their lives? Yet they acknowledge the Lordship of Allah (Rububiyyah).
