As-Saffat 127–182
After the stories of Luth and Yunus who were saved, the discussion shifts to exposing the thinking of disbelieving Quraysh who believed Allah has daughters and kinship with jinn.
Verses 127-148 continue the story of Ilyas from before, Prophet Luth, and Prophet Yunus. For those who reject the call to Tawhid and do not wish to live according to Allah's system and His Messengers' system, Allah will punish in this world and the Hereafter. For those who obey Allah and His Messengers, He will save from His punishment. Luth, Ilyas, and Yunus are servants of Allah who believed and succeeded in facing the trial so Allah gave them safety and blessing to their families except Luth's wife, because she betrayed him.
Verses 149-153 question the thinking of disbelieving Quraysh who accused Allah of having daughters (the angels), while at the same time they loved sons and hated daughters. Yet they never witnessed Allah creating His angels. This is a lie they fabricated. Truly foolish indeed.
Verses 154-182 continue the previous discussion about the mistaken thinking of disbelieving Quraysh concerning Allah based on ignorance. They assumed Allah has kinship with jinn, yet the disbelieving jinn too will enter Hell. Glorified is Allah from what they associate with Him.
The disbelievers and the gods they worship will be cast into Hell. No one is misled except those who choose disbelief. Whereas the angels hold an honored position with Allah and they always glorify Allah and obey Him with great discipline.
The disbelievers reject the Qur'an on the grounds that no scripture was given to them before. In the Hereafter they will know the terrible fate they will suffer, and in this world too He will punish them. Allah will surely help His Messengers and His soldiers. Glorified is Allah from what they associate with Him. Safety upon the Messengers and all praise belongs only to Allah.
