Qaf 36–45
History of stronger nations yet destroyed is presented as proof, followed by the command to be patient and glorify Allah, then the description of the trumpet that brings people out of their graves.
Verses 36-45 of Surah Qaf continue Allah's scenario toward humans. Understanding the truth of the Qur'an can be achieved through the historical facts of former nations whom Allah destroyed. Yet they were stronger and mightier than the disbelieving Quraysh. Not a single one of them could escape Allah's punishment. The heavens and earth that Allah created during six days can also serve as a lesson about Allah's power and greatness.
Allah is not the least bit fatigued in maintaining them. Therefore, Allah commands the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to be patient against the mockery of the disbelievers, pray Fajr, Asr, and Tahajjud (before the five daily prayers were obligated), and glorify and praise Allah after the obligatory prayers.
Later the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) will hear the call of the angel and all humans will hear the sound of the trumpet that causes all humans to come out from within their graves. Allah is the One who causes death, brings life again, and to Him too humans are returned. After the event of the Day of Judgment, Allah will gather all humans on the plain of assembly with great ease. Therefore, Allah is All-Knowing of the mockery of disbelievers toward the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). So his duty is to call them to Allah, not to force them to believe. Teach the Qur'an to those who fear the threat of the Hereafter.
