Al-Jinn 1–28

A group of jinn secretly listened to the recitation of the Qur'an without the Messenger knowing, then acknowledged its miraculousness, acknowledging that their kind were divided between believers and those who deviate.

• A group of jinn listened to the Qur'an from the Messenger without Him knowing, then acknowledged its miraculousness because the book guides to tawhid (monotheism).
• Seeking protection from the jinn is said to lead mankind astray, while jinn and mankind who disbelieve think there is no day of resurrection.
• The jinn who tried to climb to the sky found strict guarding with burning stars that chase every eavesdropper of heavenly news.
• The jinn themselves acknowledge that there are some who are Muslim and some who deviate: those who are Muslim find the straight path, those who deviate become fuel for Hell.
• It is affirmed that the Messenger is unable to bring benefit or harm and his duty is only to convey the message, while knowledge of the unseen is only revealed to a Messenger who is pleased with.

Verses 1-13 of Surah Al-Jin explain that Allah informs the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) that there is a group of jinn who listened to the Qur'an from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), while He did not know it. The jinn acknowledged the miraculousness of the Qur'an because the Qur'an guides to tawhid. Allah is not fit to be associated with, because He is Most High and Most Great and Most Pure from the claims of foolish jinn and mankind and liars. Mankind will be misguided if they seek protection from the jinn. The disbelieving jinn and disbelieving mankind think there is no day of resurrection.

The jinn tried to climb to the sky, they saw very strict guarding with burning stars. Every jinn that tried to sit and listen to heavenly news, the stars pursued it. The jinn did not understand Allah's purpose in that matter. There are jinn who believe and jinn who associate partners. The group of jinn who listened to the Qur'an are the believing jinn and believe in the Greatness of Allah.

Verses 14 and 15 continue the previous verse regarding the jinn who listened to the Qur'an. They acknowledge that some are Muslim and some deviate. Those who are Muslim find the straight path, while those who deviate will become fuel for Hell. Verses 16-28 explain principles of faith such as steadfastness, patience in facing trials of good or hardship, the mosque belongs to Allah, so use it to teach tawhid. Many jinn and mankind try to extinguish the light of Islam. However, it is impossible. Because, Allah helps His Messenger and His religion.

The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is unable to give benefit or harm. Only Allah is a place of refuge. The duty of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and his loyal nation is only to convey the message of Islam. Those who reject it will experience its consequences in the Hereafter, namely Hell, they will abide therein. Allah knows the unseen and does not reveal it to anyone except to a Messenger pleased with Him. Allah sends angels to know that the Messengers have conveyed His message and counts all things very carefully.
