At-Takwir 1–29

The upheaval of the Day of Judgment is described in detail — the sun is rolled up, the pregnant she-camel is abandoned, the slain girl-child is questioned about her sin — then it is affirmed that the Qur'an is not the word of Satan.

• The sun is rolled up, the stars fall down, the mountains fly away, the pregnant she-camels are abandoned, the wild beasts are gathered together, and the sea is set on fire.
• Souls are reunited with bodies, the girl-child who was slain is asked what sin she committed that caused her to be killed, records are spread out, the sky is stripped away, Hellfire is kindled, and Paradise is brought near.
• On that Day every soul knows what it has sent forward and kept back.
• The Qur'an is affirmed as the word of Allah brought by Gabriel, a mighty messenger, honored, trustworthy, and not stingy in conveying the revelation, while Prophet Muhammad is not a madman.
• The Qur'an is not the word of Satan but rather a reminder to the jinn and mankind, especially for those who wish to straighten their path, and the will of mankind remains subject to the will of Allah.

Verses 1-29 of Surah At-Takwir explain two matters:

1. Allah swears that the event of the Day of Judgment is most terrible. The sun is rolled up, the stars fall down, the mountains fly away, the pregnant she-camels are abandoned, the wild beasts are gathered together, the sea is set on fire, souls are reunited with bodies, the girl-children who were slain are asked what sin they committed that caused them to be killed, records are spread out, the sky is stripped away, Hellfire is kindled and Paradise is brought near. On that Day mankind will know whether it has brought forward good or evil.
2. Allah swears by the stars, the night and the dawn that the Qur'an is truly His word brought by the angel Gabriel who possesses power and honor in the sight of Allah and possesses the quality of trustworthiness. Prophet Muhammad who receives the revelation is not mad. Gabriel is not stingy in explaining the revelation. The Qur'an is not the word of Satan. Where is the mind of one who rejects it? It is a reminder to the jinn and mankind, especially for those who wish to straighten their path. Mankind cannot will except by the will of Allah.
