Al-A'raf 23–37
After Adam's repentance is accepted and humans are sent down to earth, Allah provides them with outer garment and the garment of God-consciousness so they do not fall into Satan's deception which covers indecent acts as tradition or religious teaching.
Verses 23-30 continue to explain the reality of the struggle between humans and Satan. Adam and his wife were the first humans successfully lured by Satan to disobey Allah's prohibition. Then they repented and acknowledged their wrongdoing against themselves. After their repentance was accepted, Allah decided that they go down to earth as the place for them and their descendants to live, die and be resurrected on the Day of Judgement.
To live in this world with existence, Allah provides humans with two things: Outer garment and other life equipment, and inner garment, namely God-consciousness (taqwa) toward Allah. The outer garment covers the 'awrah of humans, while God-consciousness toward Allah protects humans from Satan's deception and various other evils. Therefore, Allah reminds humans not to be deceived by Satan as Adam and his wife were once deceived. Satan is cunning and subtle. He and his group can see humans, while humans cannot see them. People who do not believe make Satan their leader. One form of Satan's cunning is that indecent deeds and sins can be regarded as the traditions of ancestors, or even claimed to be teachings of Islam or commands of Allah, while Allah never commands indecent deeds and sins. Allah commands justice, steadfastness in worship, sincerity in supplication and practicing Islam.
In this life, humans are either guided by Allah or led astray. Those who go astray make Satan their protector or leader. They are deceived by Satan so that going astray is regarded as guidance. Therefore, we must be careful not to be deceived by Satan.
Verses 31-37 return to explain the system of human life that Allah has created. Among them related to clothing, drink and adornment. The best clothing should be used when worshiping in the mosque, not at other occasions. Eating and drinking should not be excessive, whether in quantity or price. Allah permits all adornment of this world for the Believers (except those that are forbidden such as gold and silk for believing males).
Even the disbelievers are given the adornment of this world. However, in Paradise later, the Believers will receive what the disbelievers do not receive. Therefore, so that you Believers may attain Allah's promise, Allah forbids for you all indecent conduct, whether manifest or hidden, wrongdoing, sin, associating partners with Allah with anything and with anyone and saying about Allah without knowledge.
Allah has established that every community or generation has a limit to its life. When its time comes, they will not be able to delay or hasten it even by a moment. Allah also sends His messengers bearing Allah's verses that contain the system of human life. Those who obey it and constantly improve themselves in accordance with this system will not fear and will not grieve. There is no human more wrongdoing than one who fabricates lies about Allah. They will regret their evil and sins in the Hereafter. But it is already too late. Therefore, think a thousand times while still alive.
