36. Al-'Aliyy — The Most High
This is the most perfect expression for indicating a rank of endless loftiness. There is nothing except that it lies within the encompassing knowledge of Allah SWT. This expression can also be understood as the One Who is Most High above any partner or rival. In other words, there is no rank above His rank, and all ranks are encompassed by Him.
A servant's good fortune from ism this requires him to picture that Allah possesses absolute loftiness. For, in reality, he does not attain a rank except that there is another rank higher than it, namely the rank of the prophets and the angels. So, nothing is higher except that there is something higher still above it. For example, when the Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) asked Allah, "Is there anyone more learned than me?" Allah answered: "Yes, Our friend, Khidhir." That is what is mentioned in the well-known story in the Qur'an.
Embodying the character of ism this requires you to incline toward everything noble and to distance yourself from everything lowly (bad, base). It is said that Allah indeed loves everything noble and hates everything bad. And it is reported from Imam Ali karramallahu wajhah: "Loftiness of resolve is part of faith."
The benefit is Whoever writes ism this over a small child, Allah SWT will bring him to the stage of adulthood; if it is written for an unmarried young man, he will attain what he desires; and if it is written for a poor person, he will attain wealth by the grace of Allah SWT.
