41. Al-Jalil — The All-Majestic
Ar-Razi ra. said: "The difference between Al-Jalil, Al-Kabir and Al-Azhim is that Al-Kabir means the One Perfect in Essence;Al-Jalil means the One Perfect in Attributes; and Al-Azhim means the One Perfect in both."
So Al-Jalil is the One whose state is Most Great, and whose affairs are manifest. Nothing rivals His Essence, Attributes, and Acts. He is the One who possesses the attribute of Jalal (majesty). And the attribute of Jalal is Al-Ghaniy, Al-Malik, Al-Quddus, Al-Alim, Al-Qadir, and other attributes we have mentioned. The One who combines all these attributes in absolute form is Al-Jalil the Absolute, that is, Allah SWT. For all the beauty, perfection, and goodness that exist in this world all come from the light of His Essence and the traces of His Attributes. No existing being possesses absolute perfection except Allah. That is why the one who knows Him and beholds His beauty finds pleasure, delight, and joy, which becomes the reason they deserve Paradise. If He is certainly the Essence that is Jalil and Jamil, then everything beautiful is naturally loved and longed for by those who understand its beauty. That is why Allah too is loved and longed for, but by those who are gnostic (arif); just as a picture is loved by those who can see, not by those who are blind.
Its Benefits Whoever recites this ism or writes it on a sheet of paper with musk and saffron ink, then carries it, Allah will grant him dignity and greatness.
