62. Al-Haiyy — The Ever-Living
Al-Hayy is the One who possesses eternal life that cannot be affected by any calamity. His existence is absolute and eternal, and is not preceded by the attribute of non-existence .
It is said that Al-Hayy is the One who executes and acquires. Therefore, whatever cannot do anything and cannot obtain anything is called dead (mayit). But Allah, the Most High, does not die forever, and it is impossible that He perishes or is destroyed.
To conduct oneself with this name requires that you behave before your Lord as if you were a corpse before the one who washes it, who can turn it over as he wishes.
Its benefit Whoever recites Al-Hayy 300,000 times will not suffer illness forever. And whoever writes it on a porcelain plate with musk and rose water, then fills it with sugar water and drinks it, then he will, with Allah's permission, be healed from his illness.
