79. Al-Barr — The Beneficent
Al-Barr is the One who conveys goodness to whoever He wills with gentleness. The Absolute Beneficent is the One from whom all virtue and goodness originate. While a servant can become beneficent according to the virtue he performs, especially toward his parents and his teachers.
It is narrated from Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) that when he was in the presence of his Lord, he saw a man standing at the side of the Throne, and he asked his Lord in wonder: "O Lord, by what deed did this man reach this station?"
Allah answered: "He has never felt envious of My servants whom I have favored, and he is very dutiful to his parents."
To conduct oneself with this name requires you to give much benefit to the servants of Allah and show compassion to them.
Its benefit One who remembers (dhikr) with this name will attain virtue in all that exists.
