8. Al-Aziz — The Almighty
The word Al-'Aziz derives from al-'izzah, which means strength and victory. Another opinion states that it means the One who avoids acquiring lowliness from the attributes of creation. Al-Jilani said: 'He is mighty in station so as not to be humiliated, far from understanding so as not to be grasped, and self-sufficient in His Essence so as not to need anything else.' Imam al-Ghazali said: 'He is the Mighty Being; these three meanings do not come together except in Allah the Almighty.'
The mighty servants are those who are needed by other servants of Allah in their important affairs—the life of the Hereafter and eternal happiness.
Its Efficacy Whoever invokes it for forty days, forty times each day, then Allah will aid and honor him, so that he no longer needs the help of any creature.
