Recitation When Placing the Body into the Grave

بِسْمِ اللهِ وَعَلَى سُنَّةِ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ.

Bismillaahi wa ‘alaa sunnati Rasu-lillaah.

(Narrated by Abu Dawud 3/314)

Supplication After the Body Is Buried

The Prophet, when he had finished burying a body, would stand over it and say: "Ask forgiveness from Allah for your brother, and ask that he be made firm and steadfast (when he is questioned by the two angels), for indeed he is being questioned now."

اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ اَللَّهُمَّ ثَبِّتْهُ.

Alloohummaghfirlahuu alloohumma tsabbithu

O Allah, forgive him, O Allah, make him firm. (Narrated by Abu Dawud 3/315 and Al-Hakim) Supplication for Visiting the Grave / Entering the Graveyard

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَآاَهْلَ الْقُبُوْرِ يَغْفِرُاللهُ لَنَا وَلَكُمْ اَنْتُمْ سَلَفُنَا وَنَحْنُ بِا ْلاَثَرِ

ASSALAAMU'ALAIKUM YAA AHLAL QUBUURI YAGHFIRULLOOHU LANAA WA LAKUM ANTUM SALAFUNAA WA NAHNU BIL ATSAR

Peace be upon you, O inhabitants of the graves, may Allah forgive us and you; you have gone before us and we will follow

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ الدِّيَارِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُسْلِمِيْنَ، وَإِنَّا إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ بِكُمْ لاَحِقُوْنَ (وَيَرْحَمُ اللهُ الْمُسْتَقْدِمِيْنَ مِنَّا وَالْمُسْتَأْخِرِيْنَ) أَسْأَلُ اللهَ لَنَا وَلَكُمُ الْعَافِيَةَ.

Assalaamu ‘alaikum yaa ahlad diyaari minal mu`miniina wal muslimiina wa innaa lnsyaa-alloohu bikum laahiquun (wayarhamulloohul mustaqdimiina minnaa wal musta`khiriina) as-alullooha lanaa walakumul ‘aafiyah

Peace be upon you, O inhabitants of this abode (Barzakh) among the believers and Muslims. Indeed we, if Allah wills, will join you; we ask Allah for us and for you to grant well-being (from what is not wished for). (Narrated by Muslim 2/671 and Ibn Majah)
