Supplication Seeking Refuge from the Fire of Hell

رَبَّنَا اصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا إِنَّهَا سَاءَتْ مُسْتَقَرًّا وَمُقَامًا

Robbanashrif 'annaa jahannama inna 'adzabahaa kaana ghoroomaa, innahaa saa-at mustaqoorow wamuqoomaa

"Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is continuing torment. Indeed, it is an evil settlement and residence." (Qur'an 25:65-66).

Supplication Seeking Protection from the Punishment of Hell

اَللّهُمَّ قِنِيْ عَذَابَكَ يَوْمَ تَبْعَثُ عِبَادَكَ

ALLAHUMMA QINII 'ADZAABAKA YAUMA TAB'ATSU 'IBAADAK. (3X)

"O Allah, protect me from Your punishment on the Day You resurrect Your servants." (3 times) (Reported by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi)

Supplication to Die and Be Resurrected as a Muslim

بِاسْمِكَ اللّهُمَّ اَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا

BISMIKA ALLOOHUMMA AMUUTU WA AHYAA.

"In Your name, O Allah, I die and I live." (Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Supplication Seeking Mercy if One's Soul is Taken and Protection if One is Kept Alive

بِاسْمِكَ رَبِّي وَضَعْتُ جَنْبِي وَبِكَ أَْرْفَعَُهُ فَإِن أَمْسَكْتَ نَفْسِي فَارْحَمْهَا وَإِنْ أَرْْ سَلْتَهَا فَاحْفَظْهَا بِمَا تَحْفَظُ بِهِ عِبَادَكَ الصَّالِحيْنَ

BISMIKA RABBII WADHO'TU JAMBII, WA BIKA ARFA'UH, FA-IN AMSAKTA NAFSII FARHAMHAA, WA IN ARSALTAHAA FAHFAZHHAA, BIMAA TAHFAZHU BIHII 'IBAADAKASH SHOOLIHIIN.

"In Your name, O my Lord, I lay down my side, and by You I raise it. If You take my soul, have mercy upon it; and if You send it back, protect it with the same protection You give Your righteous servants." (Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim)
