This page contains a collection of supplications recited by Hajj or Umrah pilgrims from the first round to the seventh round while performing tawaf around the Kaaba.
Supplications for Tawaf From the First Round to the Last
As soon as pilgrims arrive to perform tawaf, they should recite the talbiyah frequently. The talbiyah supplication is as follows:
Labbaika Allahumma labbaik, labbaika laa syariika laka labbaik, innalhamda wanni’mata laka wal mulka laa syariika laka.
Meaning: "Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Indeed all praise, grace, and dominion are Yours. You have no partner."
Supplication for the First Round of Tawaf (R1)
The following supplication is recited starting from the Black Stone Corner to the Yamani Corner:
Muhammadin shallallahu’alaihi wasallam. Allahumma inna as’alukal ‘afwa wal’aafiyata walmu’aafaataddaaimata fiidaini waddunyaa wal’akhirati walfauza biljannati wannajaata minannaar.
Subhaanallaahi walhamdulillahi wa laailaaha illallaahu wallahu akbar wa laa haula wa laa quwwata illaa billaahil ‘aliyyil ‘adhzim. Wasshalaatu wassalaamu ‘alaa rasuulillaahi shallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam. Allahumma iimaananbika watashdiiqan bikitaabika wawafaa’an bi’ahdika wattabaa’an lisunnati nabiyyaka.
Meaning:
"Glory be to Allah, all praise is due to Allah, there is no god but Allah, Allah is the Greatest. There is no power (to gain benefit) and no strength (to repel harm) except with the help of Allah, the Most High, the Most Great. Blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). O Allah, I perform this tawaf out of faith in You, belief in Your Book, fulfilment of Your covenant, and following the Sunnah of Your Prophet, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). O Allah, indeed I ask You for forgiveness, health, and lasting protection in practising this religion, in this world and the next, and success in attaining Paradise and being saved from the punishment of the Fire."
Every time reaching the Yamani Corner it is sunnah to touch it; but if that is not possible, one may raise a hand without kissing it and then recite the following supplication:
Bismillahi Allaahu akbar
Meaning: "In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest."
As for the supplication recited while walking between the Yamani Corner and the Black Stone Corner, it is:
Rabbanaa aatinaa fiddunyaa hasanatan wa fil akhirati hasanatan waqinaa adzabannaar.
Meaning: "Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire."
This supplication is recited in every round (from the first round to the seventh) each time we walk between the Yamani Corner and the Black Stone Corner. It may also be followed with the supplication below:
Wa adkhilnaljanntata ma al abraari yaa ‘aziizu yaa ghaffaaru yaa rabaal’alamiin.
Meaning:
"And admit us into Paradise together with those who do good, O Almighty, Most Forgiving, Lord of all the worlds."
2. Supplication for the Second Round of Tawaf (R2)
Allahumma inna haadzaalbaita baituka wal harama haramuka, wal amnuka wal ‘abda ‘abduka wa anaa ‘abduka wabnu ‘abdika wahaadza maqaamul ‘aaidzibika minannaar. Faharramluhuu manaa wabasyara tana ‘alannaar. Allahumma habbab ilainaal iimaana wazainahu fiiy quluubinaa wakarrah ilainaalkufra walfusuqa wal’ishyaana waj’alnaa minarrasyidiin.
Allaahumma qiniiy ‘adzabaka yauma tab’atsu ‘ibaadaka. Allahummarzuqniyaljannata bighairi hisaab.
Meaning:
"O Allah, indeed this House is Your House, this sacred land is Your sacred land, this land of safety is Your land of safety, this servant is Your servant, the son of Your servant, and this station is the place of one who seeks refuge in You from the Fire; so shield our flesh and skin from the Fire. O Allah, instil faith within us and adorn it in our hearts, and make us hate disbelief, transgression, and disobedience, and make us among those rightly guided.
O Allah, protect me from Your punishment on the Day You resurrect Your servants. O Allah, grant me Paradise without reckoning."
3. Supplication for the Third Round of Tawaf (R3)
Allaahumma inna a’udzubika minassyakkaa wassyarki wassyaqaaqi wannafaaqi wasuu’i akhlaaqi wasuu’ql mandzhori walmunqalabi filmaali wal ahli walwalad,
Allahumma inna as’aluka ridhaaka wal jannata wa a’udzubika min sakhathika wannaai. Allahumma inna a’udzubika min fitnatil qabri wa a’udzubika min fitnatilmahyaa walmamaat.
Meaning: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from doubt, associating partners with You, discord, hypocrisy, bad character, and a bad outcome and turn of events concerning wealth, family, and children.
O Allah, indeed I ask You for Your good pleasure and Paradise. And I seek refuge in You from Your wrath and the punishment of the Fire. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the trial of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of life and the suffering of death."
4. Supplication for the Fourth Round of Tawaf (R4)
Allaahummaj’alhu hajjan mabruuran wasa’yan masykuuran wadzanban maghfuuran wa ‘amalaan shaalihan maqbuulan watijaaratan lan tabuura.
Yaa ‘aalima maafisshuduuri akhrij’niiy yaa Allaahu minadzhulumaati rahmatika wa’azaa ima maghfiratika wassalaamata min kulla itsmin walghaniimata min kulla birra walfauza biljannati wannajaata minannaar.
Allahumma qanna’niiy bimaa razaqtaniiy wa baarikliiy fiimaa a’thaytaniiy waakhluf ‘alayya kulla ghaaibatin liy minka bikhairin.
Meaning:
"O Allah, grant me an accepted Hajj, an accepted sa'i, forgiven sin, an accepted righteous deed, and an undertaking that will never fail. O Knower of what lies within the hearts, bring me out, O Allah, from darkness into Your mercy.
O Allah, I ask You for everything that brings Your mercy and the firmness of Your forgiveness, safety from every sin and success in obtaining every good, and success in attaining Paradise and being saved from the punishment of the Fire.
My Lord, satisfy me with what You have granted me, bless for me all that You have bestowed upon me, and replace with good from You whatever is unseen to me."
5. Supplication for the Fifth Round of Tawaf (R5)
Allahumma adzhillaniiy tahta dzhilla ‘arsyika yauma laa dzhilla illaa dzhilluka wa laa baaqiya illaa wajhuka wa asqiniiy min haudli nabiyyaka muhammadin shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallama syurbatan hanii atan marii’atan laa adzhmau ba’da haaa abadan. Allahumma inna as’aluka min khairi maa sa’alaka minhu nabiyyuka.
Muhammadun shallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam, wa a’udzubika min syarra maasya’aa dzaka minhu nabiyyuka muhammadun shallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam. Allahumma inna as’alukaljannata wana’iimahaa wamaa yuqarrabuniiy ilaihaa min qawliin awfi’lin aw’amalin. Wa a’udzuubika minannaari wa maa yuqarrabuniiy ilaihaa minqaulin aufi’lin au’amalin.
Meaning:
"O Allah, shelter me under the shade of Your Throne on the day when there is no shade except Your shade, and nothing remains except Your Being, and give me a drink from the pool of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), a sweet, refreshing, and pleasant drink after which I will never thirst again.
O Allah, I ask You for the good that Your Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) asked You for, and I seek refuge in You from the evil from which Your Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) sought refuge.
O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and its bliss and whatever brings me closer to it, whether in word, deed, or action, and I seek refuge in You from the Fire and whatever brings me closer to it, whether in word, deed, or action."
6. Supplication for the Sixth Round of Tawaf (R6)
Allaahumma innalaka ‘alayya huquuqan katsiiratan fiimaa bainii wabaina khalqika. Allaahumma maa kaana laka minhaa faghfirhu liiy wamaa kaana likhalqika fatahammalhu ‘anna wa aghniniy bihalaalika ‘anharaamika wabitha‘atika ‘an ma’shiyatika wabifadlika ‘amman siwaaka yaa waasi’al maghfirati.
Allaahumma inna baitaka ‘adzhiimun wa wajhaka kariimun wa anta yaa Allaahu haliimun kariimun ‘adhzimun tuhibbul’afwa fa’fu ’anna.
Meaning:
"O Allah, indeed You have many rights over me in what is between me and You. And You also have many rights in what concerns me and Your creation.
O Allah, whatever right is Yours over me, forgive me for it. And whatever right belongs to Your creation, take it upon Yourself on my behalf; suffice me with Your lawful provision so I have no need of the unlawful, with obedience to You so I have no need of disobedience, and with Your favour so I have no need to hope from anyone other than You, O Most Forgiving.
O Allah, indeed Your House (the Kaaba) is magnificent, Your Being is Noble, and You, O Allah, are Ever-Forbearing, Most Generous, Most Great, who loves to forgive, so forgive me."
7. Supplication for the Seventh Round of Tawaf (R7)
Allaahumma inna as’aluka iimaanan kaamilan wayaqiinan shaadiqan wa rizqan waasi’an waqalban khaasyi’an walisaa nan dzaakiran wa halaalan thayyaban wataubatan nashuukhan wataubatan qablalmaut waraahatan indal maut wa maghfiratan warahmatan ba’dalmaut wal’afwa indal hisaab wal fauza biljannati wannajaata minannaari birahmatika yaa ‘aziizu yaa ghaffaar. Rabba zidnii ‘ilman wa alhiqniiy bisshaalihiin.
Meaning:
"O Allah, I ask You for complete faith, true certainty, abundant provision, a humble heart, a tongue that ever remembers (Allah), lawful and good provision, an accepted repentance and repentance before death, ease at the moment of death, forgiveness and mercy after death, pardon at the reckoning, and success in attaining Paradise and being saved from the Fire by Your mercy, O Almighty, O Most Forgiving. My Lord, increase me in knowledge and join me with the ranks of the righteous."
