Prophet Isa Will Descend Again to Earth

Explanation based on the hadith of Prophet Muhammad about the descent of Prophet Isa to earth before the Day of Judgment to lead congregational prayer, defeat the Dajjal, and save humanity from the fitnah of Gog and Magog.

From the hadith narrative it is told that towards the Day of Judgment/end times Isa will be sent down by Allah from heaven to earth. The event is depicted from the following hadith:

"There is no prophet between me and Isa and verily he will descend, if you see him, know that he is a man of medium build, with reddish-white complexion. He will descend wearing two layers of garments dyed red, his head seeming to drip with water though he is not wet."

"A group from my Ummah will continue to fight in the truth openly until the Day of Judgment, then Isa bin Maryam will descend, then their leader (Al Mahdi) will say: 'Come and lead us in prayer.' He will reply: 'No, indeed some of you are leaders over others, as a dignity given by Allah to this Ummah (the Muslim Ummah).'"

"Suddenly Isa is among them and the prayer is called, then it is said to him, come forward you (be the imam of prayer), O Spirit of Allah.' He replied: 'Let your leader come forward and let him lead your prayer.'"

Prophet Isa When He Descends Again to Earth

According to Islam, the first thing Isa does after descending from heaven is to perform prayer as explained by the hadith above.

The location of Isa's descent is explained by Muhammad in the following hadith:

"Isa ibn Maryam will descend at the 'White Minaret' (Al Mannaratul Baidha') in the East of Damascus."

Isa's arrival will be preceded by a world condition filled with oppression, suffering and great wars involving all the world's inhabitants, after which the emergence of Imam Mahdi who will save the Muslims, then the emergence of the Dajjal who will try to kill Imam Mahdi, after the Dajjal spreads his fitnah for 40 days, then Isa will be sent down from heaven to destroy the Dajjal. One of his great tasks after killing the Dajjal is to save mankind from the fitnah of Gog and Magog.

Conclusion and Wisdom of the Story of Prophet Isa:

With the power of Allah, the pure spirit that Gabriel blew into Maryam became a fetus, then Prophet Isa was born.

The strange occurrence of Prophet Isa, to Allah is ordinary. Even more strange is the occurrence of Prophet Adam, who had neither father nor mother.

The companions of Prophet Isa numbered 12, and they were called Al-Hawariyyun.

The teaching of Prophet Isa is indeed the same as Islamic teaching today.
