News of the miraculous baby of Sayyidah Maryam soon spread to all parts of the land, including reaching the ears of the priests and Jewish leaders. The life and conduct of society, which had long deviated from the teachings of the Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) and the Prophet Dawud (peace be upon him), would soon be set straight. For this reason, the priests and Jewish leaders ordered their guards to arrest Sayyidah Maryam along with her baby. Besides that, they searched for pregnant women and killed every newborn male infant.

Sayyidah Maryam had been informed by someone regarding this important information. On that night, Sayyidah Maryam carried the Prophet Isa out of Palestine towards Egypt. She was very worried that the guards would find her trail, and then draw their swords at her from behind. But Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) had promised to protect her. After undertaking a tiring journey, both of them safely arrived in Egypt, a land filled with goodness and glory. The Prophet Isa grew up and spent his childhood happily. He sought knowledge, attended meetings and discussed with the scholars.

One day someone met Sayyidah Maryam. He informed Sayyidah Maryam to return to Palestine, for the priests and Jewish leaders who wanted to kill her had died. Within a short time, Sayyidah Maryam and the Prophet Isa, who had become an adult, were in his homeland. The Prophet Isa began to preach. First to people he knew. He called upon them to return to worship and to affirm the Oneness of Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He). They were advised to stop worshipping idols and not to deify money and gold.

Besides that, on the Sabbath the Prophet Isa would leave his house to pick fruits, then give them to the hungry and the poor. On the Sabbath, the Prophet Isa also lit fires for old women, so that they would not die from the cold. Yet according to the belief of the Jewish people at that time, the Sabbath was a holy day. The meaning was that they should not do any activity except worship idols. In the place of worship filled with sheep and doves, the Jews seemed to be asking for forgiveness of sins from the priests.

The Prophet Isa was very saddened to see this reality. For many poor people could not afford to pay the priests to forgive their sins and wrongdoings. The Prophet Isa, who was accustomed to living simply, continued to spread his teachings. Little by little his followers increased in number.
