Sunnah Prayer of Purification: What is it and How to Perform it
is a Sunnah that is performed after performing wudū and reciting the supplication at the completion of wudū, then followed by a Sunnah prayer of two rak'ahs. With the intention worded as follows:
Ushallii sunnatal-wudhuu'i rak'ataini lillahi ta'ala
I intend to pray the Sunnah prayer of wudū for two rak'ahs for Allah the Most High.
This Sunnah Prayeris performed in two rak'ahsjust as other Sunnah prayers with sincerity until the salam. The performance of this Sunnah prayer of wudū is based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked Bilāl at the time of Fajr prayer, O Bilāl, tell me of the best deed you have done in Islam, for I heard the sound of your footsteps in Paradise? Bilāl answered, I have done no good deed except that whenever I perform wudū by night or day, I pray (a Sunnah prayer) with that wudū for the obligatory prayer.
